Hey all! So the puppy match was a blast!! Miss Tilda had a little bit of an upset tummy so Allison decided it was best to leave her home, didn't want to stress her out further. But thankfully Allison still came to keep me sane and took all the pictures! So first off, I'm walking into this place thinking its going to be small and that there would be me and maybe 2 or 3 other RR's. WRONG. We walk in and is a huge building with rings and vendors everywhere. We set up camp, in the wrong area, and move two times finally ending up by the other RR people. There were a good 15 other RR's, all of them
being handled by veterans of the breed and actually KNOW what they are doing, so I was a little intimidated. Luckily most of them are really nice and gave me pointers and encouragement. They really made us new comers feel welcome and part of the group. Naturally the hound group was LAST, giving me plenty of time to get goood and nervous, but with Allison and the other girls around I kept from hurling :) For the most part Rowan was quiet in his crate and just sat back and took it all in, with a whine here and there.
So when our turn came up, we were the first RR to go in and we were the only 3-6 month boy, so all eyes were on us, SUPER. We got around the ring beautifully and stood pretty darn still for the judge. Teeth were a little bit of an issue, but that's was because he asked ME to show him the bite, and I was all over the place and shaking a little :) Then the down and back, I felt like he was pretty straight so that was ok too. Then we got our pink ribbon!! Then we went up against all the other boy puppies, that was hilarious, we had a little trouble keeping up with the big boys and were a good half of the ring behind on the go around, but oh well! Then we did the down and back again and he apparently did a perfect free stack that got lots of complements so that made me proud. We didn't win though :( But I couldn't be happier with Rowan, he was AMAZING!! Rowan got lots of compliments on his structure and gait and all that good stuff.
